UAE Launches New 6-Month Visa Service to Complete Golden Residency Formalities

With each passing day, United Arab Emirates (UAE) is launching new services and initiatives to remain ahead of the innovation curve whilst simultaneously providing valuable services to its citizens and tourists.

Keeping in line with their values of self-improvement, UAE has launched a new visa that will be valid for 6-months to finalize the procedures of UAE’s golden residency.

This initiative was launched by the UAE Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA-UAE).

Authorities informed on their website that this service can be further extended for a similar period. This visa, however, is not open for everyone and is only open to applicants who want to complete their golden residency. It is worth mentioning that applicants are allowed multiple entries to the UAE through this new visa.

ICA-UAE also mentioned who will be eligible to apply for this visa, which contains the following categories:

• Investors
  • Public investments / real estate investor
• Entrepreneurs
  • Owner and founder of a project
• Specialized talents
  • Doctors / scientists
• Creative specialists in culture and art
• Inventors/specialists in priority scientific fields
• Athletes
• Ph.D. holders
  • Specialists in the fields of engineering and science (epidemiology and viruses / artificial intelligence / big data/computer engineering/electronics engineering/programming engineering, electrical, genetics, and biotechnology
• Outstanding students
  • High school students/university students

How to Apply?

The application process is extremely simple as most of it can be done online. The complete step-by-step process is mentioned on the ICA-UAE website, which includes the following steps:

1. Fill out all the information
2. Attach all the valid documentation
3. Pay the fees
4. Review your application
5. Submit

The documents required for the processing of the application include:

• Dependent passport
• Colored photo
• Proof of eligibility for the golden residency

However, do note that depending on your individual case, the authorities can demand additional documentation for verification purposes. If the application is returned for changes, the applicant must update the required information and resubmit the request within 30 days. Failure to do so will result in the application being cancelled.

Cost of the Visa

The total cost of the six-month visa is 1,150 AED, which is broken down as follows:

• Request Fee – 100 AED
• Issue Fee – 1,000 AED
• E-Service Fee – 28 AED
• ICA Fee – 22 AED

Terms and Conditions

According to ICA-UAE, application will be canceled electronically after the lapse of 30-days in the event that the application is returned due to missing data or non-completion of the required documents. In addition to that, the application will be canceled if it is returned 3-times due to missing data or non-completion of the required documents. Lastly, the Issuance fees are refunded only if the application is rejected by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.
