DIB Business Banking

Open a Dubai Islamic Bank Business Account in the UAE

A Dubai Islamic Bank business account is a Sharia-compliant corporate account for UAE-licensed companies. DIB opened in 1975 as the world's first full-service Islamic bank. It is regulated by the Central Bank of the UAE.

You choose from four packages. The entry account needs AED 50,000 average balance. The e-Trader account needs zero if you hold a Dubai DED e-Trader licence. The right one depends on your cash flow.

Tell us your monthly turnover and expected balance. We point you to the DIB account that avoids fall-below fees, or to a better-fit bank.

Eligibility

Who can open a DIB business account ?

Mainland companies, free zone companies and offshore entities with a valid UAE trade licence can all apply. Approval is never automatic. DIB runs its own KYC and compliance review on every file, and it can decline without giving a reason.

You do not need to be Muslim to open a Sharia-compliant account. Islamic banking is open to everyone. Many non-Muslim founders choose it for the ethical, interest-free model.

Ask if you qualify
  • Valid UAE trade licence, whether mainland, free zone or offshore
  • Passport and Emirates ID or residence visa for each signatory
  • A resident signatory widens your options and speeds up approval
  • Clear, documented source of funds and business activity
  • Non-residents can apply, but expect enhanced due diligence

Note: Final approval, account tier and balance terms sit with Dubai Islamic Bank. RIZ & MONA prepares and submits your file to the bank's standard, but no consultancy can guarantee a bank's decision.

Documents

What documents do you need for a DIB business account?

Two sets: papers that prove the company, and papers that prove the people behind it. Get both clean and the review moves faster.

  • Valid UAE trade licence
  • Certificate of incorporation
  • Memorandum and Articles of Association, the MOA and AOA
  • Board resolution or power of attorney naming the signatories
  • Proof of business address and business activity
  • Recent financial statements where available
Avoid Delays

Why do DIB applications get delayed?

Vague business activity

  • Banks reject files they cannot risk-score quickly
  • State exactly what you sell, to whom and from where
  • We match your activity wording to your licence

Weak source of funds

  • Unexplained opening funds trigger compliance holds
  • Show where the money comes from, with documents
  • We prepare this before the bank has to ask

No resident signatory

  • Fully non-resident files face the longest reviews
  • One UAE-resident signatory widens your options
  • We structure the file to the strongest profile

Realistic timelines

Resident-owned, clean file1 to 2 weeks
Standard SME structure3 to 6 weeks
Foreign-owned or offshore4 to 8 weeks
  • Timelines depend on your business profile and the bank's compliance load. No advisor controls the bank's clock.
  • A corporate account is now tied to tax. From 2026 the FTA reconciles VAT, corporate tax and banking data, so keep records straight from day one.
  • Banking disclaimer: account approval, tier, minimum balance and fees are set by Dubai Islamic Bank at its sole discretion and can change without notice. RIZ & MONA Consultancy is not a bank and cannot guarantee any bank's decision.
Costs

How much does a DIB business account cost?

The main cost is not a fee. It is the balance you keep in the account. Miss it and DIB charges a fall-below fee, so match the tier to your real cash position.
