Fujairah Free Zone (FFZ) is one of the oldest free zones in the UAE. Managed by the Fujairah Free Zone Authority, it sits on the eastern coastline of the country, directly beside the Port of Fujairah. That is not a minor detail. The port is the largest bunkering facility in the world and the second largest container terminal in the UAE after Dubai. Companies registered here sit at the edge of one of the planet's busiest sea corridors.
The emirate of Fujairah is the only one of the seven emirates with a coastline on the Gulf of Oman, placing it outside the Strait of Hormuz. For import and export businesses, oil and gas operators, logistics firms, and manufacturers, this changes the math entirely. You get access to the Indian Ocean without routing through congested Gulf waters.
FFZA has built its reputation on three core principles it calls the ACE advantage: Accessibility, Connectivity, and Economy. The authority has kept setup costs low, licensing timelines fast, and infrastructure purpose-built for industrial and trade operations. Warehouses start at 500 square metres. Industrial land is available on long-term lease. Offices are furnished or bare, depending on your preference.
Beyond logistics, the free zone also hosts branches of major petroleum companies, mining operations, aviation support services, and maritime industries. It is one of the few UAE free zones where a maritime licence, alcohol trading licence, and tobacco trading licence are all available.
